The size of an average scraps table is about
the size of billiards table. the table is designed
to accommodate between 12-24 people. The table
has two identical sides separated by a center
area where the proposition bets are placed. Players
on each side of the table can play Identical
games and can handle their deals with the help
of a dealer close to them.
A rail is located In front of the players divided
into the same number of sections, as there are
players to keep the bettors chips in. there are
several possibilities for betting on the table.
Pass Line: The
Pass Line swings around the curvature of the
table and takes up a large portion of the layout
to accommodate all players. The need for such
a large area Is explained by the fact that most
players bet on the Pass Line.
Don't
Pass Line: This line takes up far
less space than the Pass Line. The Don't
Pass Line contains an additional box stating
'barring the 12'. This Is done so that the
players betting on this line don't take advantage.
Come Box: The
Come Box Is far less frequently used as compared
to the Pass Line and don't Pass Line. The reason
being that most players don't know how to use
this box.
Don't come Box: It
is a small area, since an average player very
rarely uses it. Just like the Don't Pass Line
It too bars number 12.
Field Bet: The
field area Is large. Approximately the casino
gets 5.5 percent advantage on all bets placed
in this area.
Big
6 & Big
8: The casino
gets approximately 9.09 percent advantage
on every bet played in this area. This justifies
the considerable amount of space it gets on the
craps table.
Place Bets: Place
Bets are by far the most popular type of bets
at the craps table.
